Alibaba Cloud extends AI services to combat COVID-19 worldwide

Alibaba Cloud- the data intelligence arm of Chinese multinational e-commerce firm Alibaba Group, has reportedly announced the extension of its advanced cloud-based technology to medical practitioners across the globe to help combat the coronavirus outbreak.

Reportedly, the series of anti-coronavirus solutions, which are cloud-based, originate from joint efforts undertaken by the solution experts at Alibaba Cloud, researchers and scientists from Alibaba DAMO Academy and the technical expert team at DingTalk – an enterprise communication and collaboration network developed by the Alibaba Group which has been adopted by UNESCO to facilitate distance learning during COVID-19.

Notably, DingTalk is known for providing online-streaming classes to over 120 million students across China and the firm has decided to launch an International Medical Expert Communication Platform which will stream on Alibaba Cloud platform.

Citing reliable sources, the novel program provides medical workers free means of communication worldwide to directly connect with doctors from prominent medical institutions like First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University and many others in China who have been constantly participating in China’s battle against COVID-19.

With the help of technologies like video conferencing and real-time AI language translations in 11 languages like Bahasa, French, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese and Russian, Alibaba Cloud is focusing on building a strong virtual infrastructure, inviting Chinese doctors to share insights and answer questions.

Seemingly, the Alibaba DAMO Academy, a global effort undertaken by Alibaba, will offer three main solutions through free trial for medical practitioners and research centers globally. The e-commerce giant is joining hands with local partners to employ the required solutions and services complying with the local laws and regulations.
